Diving Cenote Dos Ojos, Riviera Maya
Dos Ojos is the cenote that shows up in every documentary, and for good reason. Two entrances connected by a cavern system where the water is so clear it feels like floating in air. Light beams cut through the rock, stalactites hang centimetres above your head and visibility passes forty metres. It is the best cenote for your first time.

How the day works, step by step
- Pick-up. We collect you from your hotel in Cancun or the Riviera Maya in the morning.
- Transfer. Drive to the cenote with a preliminary cavern-diving briefing.
- Briefing. Cavern rules, guideline use, buoyancy and silt management.
- Dive 1 · Barbie Line. The brightest circuit, with light beams and formations.
- Dive 2 · Bat Cave. Second circuit toward the bat air chamber — more intimate and darker.
- Return. Back to your hotel. Total duration around 7 hours.

Requirements
Open Water certification (or equivalent). Recent experience recommended; if it has been a while we run a refresher. No cave certification required — we dive cavern, always within natural light.

Frequently asked questions
Is cenote diving dangerous?
We dive the cavern zone, not cave: always within sight of natural light, with a permanent guideline and a specialist guide. It is a very controlled environment and probably the best-visibility dive you will ever do.
Is the cenote cold?
The water sits around 25 °C year-round. We use 3 mm wetsuits, enough for two dives. If you feel the cold, tell us and we will adjust the thickness.
What is the difference between cavern and cave?
Cavern diving always keeps natural light in view and follows a guideline — that is what we do, and it is accessible with an Open Water certification. Cave diving is technical, in total darkness, and requires specific training.
