Since 2020, with more than twelve years of experience behind it
Scuba Adventours Mexico opened in September 2020, but the team has been diving this coast for over twelve years. Since then we have taken travellers from around the world to discover the reefs, cenotes and marine life of the Mexican Caribbean. What began as a passion for diving became a professional operation that has guided more than 8,000 divers, from first-timers to certified divers chasing the adrenaline of bull sharks.
We are local, and it shows underwater
We do not operate from an office in another city. We live here, we dive these sites every week and we know their rhythms: when the current picks up at Punta Cancun, what time the light beams at 7 Bocas go vertical, which cenote is perfect when a norther closes the sea.

How we work, specifically
'Responsible tourism' gets said a lot and practised rarely. Here is what it means in our case, point by point.
A real cap on people per guide
Small groups for real, not on paper. On the whale shark swim it is two swimmers per turn, never more. In cenotes the group is smaller still, because fine buoyancy control demands it.
Zero contact with wildlife
Nothing is touched, chased or fed for a photo. We respect the minimum distances set by every protected area, and reef-safe sunscreen is mandatory.
Mooring buoys, never an anchor on coral
A reef takes decades to recover from an anchor strike and seconds to break. We tie to a buoy wherever the site has one.
We say no when the sea says no
If conditions do not cooperate we reschedule or refund. We would rather lose a departure than force one.

Questions about us
Are your instructors certified?
Yes. The team are certified PADI instructors and guides with more than twelve years diving this coast. A guide goes with you on every trip: none of our dives are self-guided.
How many people are there per guide?
We work to a real cap per guide, not to the maximum the boat allows. On the whale shark swim it is two swimmers per turn. In cenotes the group is smaller still, because fine buoyancy demands it.
Do I need a certification to dive with you?
Not for everything. We run beginner dives with no certification, alongside an instructor, and trips for certified divers. If you want to get certified, there are the PADI courses.
What happens if the sea is rough?
We reschedule or refund in full. When we are the ones cancelling for sea or safety conditions there is no penalty of any kind: we offer you another date or a complete refund.
Where do the dives depart from?
It depends on the destination, and every tour page says so before you book: Cancun departs from Hotel Sotavento in the Hotel Zone, Puerto Morelos from its pier, and the cenotes and Cozumel have their own meeting points. No trip leaves you guessing where to show up.
