Not many people can say their first dive was in Cozumel. Visibility here is on another level: you can see the bottom from the surface, and underwater everything looks bigger and closer. You start with a shallow-water session and dive two reefs that experienced divers cross the world to visit.

How the day works, step by step
- Meeting point. Asipona Fonatur Marina, Cozumel.
- Introduction. Basics, equipment and signals. No exams.
- Practice. Shallow-water training until breathing underwater feels natural.
- Dive 1. First dive on a shallow reef with a guide beside you.
- Dive 2. Second dive to enjoy the visibility and marine life.
- Lunch and return. Light lunch and back to the marina. Total duration around 5 hours.

Is it worth going to Cozumel just for a first dive?
If you have the day, yes: Cozumel's visibility makes a first experience far more striking. If time is tight, Cancun or Puerto Morelos give an excellent result without the ferry.
How do I get to Cozumel?
Ferry from Playa del Carmen, about 45 minutes. We can quote the full transfer from your hotel.
Is the Discover Scuba a drift dive?
No. Introductory dives are run at shallow, sheltered sites. Drift diving is reserved for certified divers.
