Your first dive in Cabo Pulmo, no certification

5.0★ · 242 Google reviews

You do not need to know how to dive to see the World's Aquarium. You start with a class on land, move on to shallow-water practice and, once the instructor sees you are ready, you descend twice inside Cabo Pulmo National Park.

What makes this dive different

  • Built for people who have never dived: no experience or certification required
  • A class beforehand, with the gear in your hands and the basics explained
  • Shallow-water practice before heading to the site
  • Two dives inside the National Park, down to 12 metres
  • An instructor with you throughout
  • Full gear and National Park access included

How the day works, step by step

  1. Welcome and check-in. We meet at Cabo Pulmo Travel at 7:30 or 12:30 and fit your gear. That is arrival time, not departure time.
  2. Introductory class. You get to know the gear, the hand signals and the basics: how to breathe and how to equalise.
  3. Shallow-water practice. You run through the first skills with the instructor beside you, bottom in sight and no rush.
  4. First dive. Once you have completed the practice and feel ready, the guided exploration begins, down to a maximum of 12 metres.
  5. Break. A pause to hydrate, have the snack and talk about what you just saw.
  6. Second dive and return. You continue with the instructor and the activity wraps up. Total duration around five and a half hours.

“I had an excellent experience with Scuba & Adventours Mexico starting my PADI Open Water Diver certification. Everything was explained very clearly and all my questions were answered along the way. Instructor René has a real talent for explaining things simply and clearly.”

“Excellent instructor. My Open Water course was a great experience with René. Very professional — he gives you a lot of confidence during the dives and made sure all of us were properly prepared. Highly recommended for certification or for recreational diving.”
Brenda Aguirre MartinezPADI Open Water course
“I did the Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses and it was an excellent decision. The service was great, my guide Rene was incredible — always attentive and giving me techniques to build confidence underwater. The most exciting part was diving with bull sharks and dolphins!”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

I have never dived — can I do this?
That is exactly what it is for. The experience includes a class and shallow-water practice before any dive, and the instructor stays beside you the whole time.
Does it certify me?
No. It is an introductory experience, not a course. If you want the card, what you are looking for is the PADI Open Water Diver, which takes two or three days and does certify you.
Do I go straight into the sea without practising?
No. First the class, then shallow-water practice, and only once you have completed the preparation do you dive the site.
How many people are needed?
Two minimum for the trip to run. If you are on your own, message us on WhatsApp and we will let you know the next date with space.
What if I struggle to adapt?
You tell the instructor during the practice. The dives happen after the preparation is complete, not before: if you need more time in the shallows, you take it.
Is National Park access included?
Yes, it is included in the price. The diving takes place inside Cabo Pulmo National Park.
