Puerto Morelos Shipwreck & Reef
Named C-56 Juan Escutia, this warship, measuring 45 meters in length, was acquired from the US Navy post-World War II, along with five sister ships. Sunk in 1996 as part of an Artificial Reef Program, the wreck now stands as a captivating spectacle fully covered in coral, teeming with diverse marine life.
Designed for diving exploration, this sunken marvel requires no special wreck diving certification, offering wide-open access for easy exploration.
- To participate in this activity a minimum Open Water Diver Certification is required
- If you haven’t dived in the last six months prior the activity, please inform our team to ensure a comfortable diving experience

Itinerary
- Departures every day at 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. with 2 divers minimum
- Check in: 08:00 a.m or 12:30 p.m
- Return to dock: Around 3.5 hours after departure
